I Love it!
First, I have to say this is an unbelievable bag, both in its design and functionality. I learned to sew using a rotary cutter and mat so I took the extra time and measured (they are all rectangles) all the pattern pieces and cut them out using my rotary cutter. Many of the pieces are cut 4 times, so I found this a much more effective way to cut the pieces. However, labelling them carefully is ESSENTIAL! This pattern calls for a tremendous amount of decorator fabric for the exterior and lining and canvas for stability (I used denim). There is an update on Amy Butler's website that changes the fabric requirements for the exterior and lining to 54" fabric. All in all it takes almost 6 yards of fabric. This is a substantial bag. I made two of these. The first one, I followed the pattern exactly, the second I used cotton quilt fabric on the exterior front and back, but I fused it to another piece of cotton to make it the same weight as the decorator fabric. Great bag
I am really happy with the bag that I made from this pattern! I carry it everywhere. This was my first big sewing project, so I was a bit confused about some of the terms and how to use the pattern cut-outs correctly. However, everything turned out really great. This probably shouldn't be your number one choice if you are a total beginner. But it is a great pattern and I'm even planning on making more.

Its pretty good. it feels like any bag. Has alot of room and comfortable. I would say a great buy. but try not to overload it or you will have problems with it. its like any messenger bag. I would recommend it to any bleach fan.

eh. as stated.
don't expect this to be heavy duty. its not thin? but it definitely WOULD NOT qualify as thick. and on the inside pockets there was, what seemed to be, black marks all over. i ended up keeping it since i was going on a trip in a few days and i needed something to carry my mac safely.

Good but...
I bought this thinking it was very cute and unique. I recieved it in the mail a few days later and it was all I had hoped for. The two downfals were: A rather odd picture on the back including bull genitalia... And I really have to fight to get my cord/charger into any of the pockets.Aside from those two negatives I am still pleased with the product and have decided to keep it and continue to use it, and would still recomend it to others.

Pockets may not hold power adapter
This is a suprisingly lightweight carrying case with decent construction. The newsprint is gibberish with random english words/phrases as well as some "chinglish" and latin.While the main pocket holds my Dell XPS M1330 laptop just fine, the outer pockets can't accomodate the Dell 90w power brick. It barely holds my Lenovo 65w power brick (which is fairly small). The dimensions of the two square outer pockets are roughly 5.5" x 5.5" with a 1/2" gusset. So check the size of your power brick if you planned to stick them in the outer pockets.Also note, the long horizontal pocket at the bottom of the case is too narrow for most AC adapters - roughly 3" high without gussets. I'm not sure what you're supposed to put in there -- maybe cables?It is not ideal (for me) to stuff the power brick in the same compartment as my laptop, so I'm rating this 3 stars instead of 4 due to the dysfunctional design.

The Perfect Bag
I have purchased from High Sierra before and their bag lasted from highschool on into college before I the zipper failed on me and some of the stitching on the shoulder pad was ripping out. This bag is great, fits several books, several notepads and a small binder. I have plenty of room for my calculator, pens, pencils, tissues, sunglasses, two water bottles, and a pack of gum for when I start to fall asleep in class. I use it everyday and everywhere I need to go, whether it's school or I'm off to another country. High Sierra uses rip-stop fabric that holds up incredibly against the day-to-day grind.

A Little Larger Than I Expected, but still a great buy!
I absolutely love the color of this bag! The plaid also adds detail to an otherwise plain bag, something I was looking for, among all of the plain bags on the market today. It was a little larger than I expected, or wanted, but its size can be attributed to it being very wide and thin. I can fit several text books side-by-side and my laptop inside, yet I don't feel like I'm carrying a bulky backpack around with me. I really like the two mesh pouches on the sides; it's very convenient for carrying multiple drink bottles. The quality is excellent. I've only had it for a few months, but it has not started to show signs of wear yet.This is an excellent bag for someone looking to carry around a large amount of stuff with them. If all you plan on carrying with you is a notebook and a few pens, look for something else that's smaller. If you were like me, and looking for something to carry several books and a computer in, then this bag will suit your purpose to the letter.

Nice messenger bag so far
I purchased this bag at JC Penny rather than ordering it; because I need to see how the bag is prior to purchasing it. Anyway I purchased this to replace my old messenger bag. My first impression is that it is a fairly large bag with two large inner compartment and one outer one. I like how it has two netting to hold two bottle of water or whatever 20 oz bottle that you want to carry. The two pockets on the inside are almost big enough to hold my Kindle2; however, the Kindle does stick out about an inch to an inch and a half. So that should give you a fair idea as to what type items you can put into those two pockets.The two pen holders in the center of the two pockets are big enough to hold two Bic pens in each (total of 4)I like how there are two zippers for the main compartment; the pocket for the cellphone is ok; I carry my cellphone in my pocket. Since my falls classes have not started yet; it is hard to say how much books I'll be able to stuff into this...

must have for leapster 2
This bag is perfect for carrying my sons Leapster 2 and all its accessories.This bag though small is perfect. It has a lot of space for everything including the head phones, games, batteries, usb cord etc. with space left.My son loves carrying it and calls it his 'laptop bag like daddy has'. I am so glad we purchased this. No worrying about games getting lost or wrecked in other bags. Highly reccomend!***Update***A year later and this bag (we actually have 2 of them) is going strong. Great Storage Bag!
I bought this LeapFrog Leapster Messenger Bag for my son to hold his Leapster and games. It is quite roomy inside and can actually hold 2 Leapsters plus lots of games. We use it to carry both of our boys Leapsters when we are going to a restaurant or long car ride. The inside has 2 pockets with a divider down the middle. We put in each of the Leapsters and the games can fit in the zipper pouches provided as well. It is great! The boys have about 20 games between them, so I am thrilled to have a place to put everything. Great buy!!!
