Best purchase all year
I purchased this pack online after researching many brands. The price ultimately sold me on this particular back pack and I am SO glad I went with this one! I was kinda expecting a pack that looked "cheaper" than the others because it was so much less. (The other one I was debating upon was $170) Also, the previous reviews made me nervous about how it would fit but they either had big problems figuring out the straps or just never wore a back pack before because I had NO problem with this. I am over 6 feet tall and on the large size for a woman so I usually have issues with things fitting my body size. I have a long torso and this pack actually fits me the way it is supposed to! I also have a chest larger than Pamela Anderson's and I have no problem buckling the chest strap :o) I don't know why the other person had such a problem because I still have room to tighten it as it doesn't even go over my chest but above it. This is a great product and long-overdue! It took some adjusting but I found the perfect height for the bar which was right above my tailbone. We go geo-caching a lot and this has come is very handy for my 2.5 year old. He will actually ask to go for a walk on the Piggyback Rider. I wish I had this for my oldest child when he was at that stage to be too big for the stroller but too little to walk for long periods. It is especially helpful when I am on my own with the three kids. I have one on my back and the other two safely holding my hands. I highly recommend this product!

  Tried it out at Disney
  As we were preparing for a trip to Disney, I had an idea for a way to carry my son around on some sort of backpack frame. He just turned five and is too big / too cool to ride around in a stroller. Fortunately, as I did a little searching, I found this thing. Though a bit pricey, it basically does what it claims.Pros:* Lightweight and compact* Better load distribution and safety than putting child on shoulders* Far more maneuverable than a stroller (Picture sprinting out of Disney parks post-fireworks. For that, this thing was AWESOME.)* Gives the kid a great vantage point for parades, fireworks, etc., when you are in a sea of adults.Cons:* The child has to stand up. This isn't really as useful as I had hoped when the kid is exhausted. Functional and comfortable
First off, I love Kelty products--I had a nice Kelty backpack that I used to trek around Africa years ago. This child carrier is no different in terms of quality. It is adjustable, comfortable, and best of all, my 1 year old loves sitting in it. I never have liked strollers, and the baby bjorn was OK, but obviously useful only for smaller kids. This backpack is great and I anticipate using it for some time, at least until my child outgrows it. Definitely recommended. I don't know how much "better" the 2.0 or 3.0 versions are--the only real advantage I can see is that one of them comes with a sunshield, which would be nice to have. I know you can also buy the sunshield separately...or just put a hat on your kid.

My 1-yr old baby girl LOVES this carrier!
I bought this for a major road trip our family took. We spent 18 days on the road, drove 4300 miles, and hiked 2-5 mile on most of those days. Our baby spent anywhere between 2 and 6 hours in the carrier on about 12 of those days. She never complained when she was in it. She wouldn't even ask for a bottle. We had to remember to bottle her on schedule to make sure she didn't get dehydrated. Normally, she lets us know loudly when it's time.She seemed to really enjoy being up high, and liked looking around at the scenery. Every time she would see me start setting it up, she would get excited. From her perspective, it was perfect. She was so comfortable in it that she would even nap up there.For me, it was surprisingly comfortable. I could wear it for hours with no problem - I would forget I was wearing it. I wish the there was more storage on the belt - there is only the small zippered mesh pouch, but that's minor. You have to take it off or have...

Awesome.
I love this thing! Now I can work around the house without having the to hold everything out at arms length like I would while using the bjorn. Also now I can put my 15 month old in the carrier and put the new born in the bjorn and my 3 year old on my shoulders if we go hiking or walking around somewhere in which we dont want to mess around with keeping the kids out of stuff they shouldnt get into. With all the kids on I feel like daddy voltron! Now if they could make a double decker or a version where you add on a front carrier like a harness you would put on a pack mule.

Great Carrier!!
I am a first time mom and I received several different carriers as gifts. My daughter always seemed to be her happiest when she was being carried around so I had a lot of oportunity to try several carriers. I was using a different brand and noticed that my back and neck were always so sore after wearing it for any extended amount of time. I also felt that my daughter was quickly outgrowing it and she seemed uncomfortable. That's when I discovered the Flip carrier and it has made all the difference. Great affordable baby carrier
My baby boy is a chunk so a baby carrier is a must. This carrier is really comfortable and for someone with back/neck problems that's saying something. The strap that goes around your waist makes all the difference. I was not uncomfortable walking around with my son strapped in compared to how I am when I wear him in my Balboa Baby sling. It's well made, secure and affordable. Can't argue with that! I have yet to find a single bad thing about this carrier. Skip the more expensive versions and go with this one, you won't regret it!

great for the price
My husband and I used this carrier while we were on vacation, and thought it was pretty great. My eight-month-old (18 pound) baby fits in it very well and enjoys the ride quite a bit. It is fairly easy to figure out and adjust the straps to the right lengths. I like the versatility of the carrying positions; different positions for different situations. My baby fell asleep in it at the airport while we were traveling and slept just fine forward facing as well as when he was on my back. I find the carrier comfortable to wear both front and back for about an hour or so (which is really long for a carrier of this type).My complaint with the carrier is that it seems like it is better suited for smaller people. I am barely 5'1'' and it fits me great, but my husband does not find it very comfortable to wear because the lap strap is too high so it doesn't rest on his hips (he's 5'11'').Overall, it's a great, inexpensive carrier that my baby loves, but it is probably...

Daughter and I are impressed
I've been looking for child carriers that appeared suitable for true in-the-woods hiking and which could carry supplies as well as a toddler. I'm using this pack to carry a 20lb 15 month old in Arizona and I'm impressed so far. There are multiple adjustments for different torso sizes that allows you to make sure you're carrying most of the weight on your hips. The padding is substantial and similar to what you'd see on a higher end internal frame backpack. You don't experience any pressure points if you've adjusted it correctly. Your passenger has multiple seating adjustments so you can position her high or low depending on size and to make sure her arms are free. The shoulder straps and leg straps are also very adjustable and easy to access. The kickstand pops out automatically which is very nice and has a pinch resistant rubber hinge insert to keep fingers out of the way. A Great Carrier for wearer and child
We wanted to get a nice backpack carrier to carry our 21-month old daughter for our upcoming trip to Montana. We were doing lots of hiking around Glacier National Park, but we also wanted it for walks around the neighborhood. We narrowed it down to the Sherpani Rumba and the Kelty FC 3.0, and bought both so we could try them out (then return the one we didn't like). I really wanted to like the Sherpani, but it was just not as comfortable as the Kelty. No matter how much adjusting I did, both my husband and I always had aching shoulders after not even an hour walk. Also, our daughter was able to wiggle halfway out of it, then would cry because she would get stuck halfway. She was just not comfortable in that pack, and would even try to avoid being put in it.
